".... it was a treat to listen to the [Grieg's Holberg] suite in its earliest conception, and the [Grieg] Sonata played not only with such technical brilliance, but with deep musical intelligence... Mozart's B flat Sonata K570 was incisive and crystal-clear, but still with its essential Mozartean charm, and Ravel's Jeux d'eaux shimmered and glittered like a fountain in the sunshine."
Russell Reid, Dundee Courier 2008
"Aged just 24 years old, Joseph played with the musical maturity of a musician twice his age"

"Beethoven's Sonata in F Op 57 was entitled "Appassionata" by its publisher. It demands plenty of passion and soul, of which Joseph has plenty, added to a fair share of drama and bravado. This was quite a brilliant performance, the soloist belying his years with a mature and sometimes effortless display. The semi-quavers were tight, the switch in tempi and mood superb and the overall effect quite simply moving...in more ways than one! This was his first public playing of this demanding work, but the soloist rose to the occasion in some style and he can be justifiably proud for one of the best interpretations and performances heard for many a long time."
Garry Fraser, 2004
